The 10 Most Important Things In Life

I'm a relatively young man. I don't consider myself wise but I do pay attention more than most people my age. Obviously none of you online know me, but I am what you call mouthy. I love to tell stories, jokes, and in general my life is an open book. I love to have fun and tell those around me exactly what I'm thinking. Believe it or not when I am not talking I am doing something even more important, listening. I truly enjoy a good conversation and especially with those older. I give speeches (mostly on plants) and tomorrow is for a group of seniors 80 and older. Everyday I look at older people and think, what have they done right and what did they do wrong? India complete 5-0 New Zealand whitewash

Chennai: After dismissing New Zealand for their lowest total against India in the fifth and final ODI, Yuvraj Singh and Parthiv Patel fascinated Chepauk crowd with their strokes and helped India to script 5-0 series victory as India decimated Kiwis by 8 wickets. New Zealand bowlers came back strong on India in the start as Nathan McCullum and Daniel Vettori dismissed Gambhir (0) and Virat Kohli (2) in the first four overs of the Indian innings but a sensible approach by Yuvraj and Parthiv foiled all Kiwi plans to make the match interesting. Parthiv (56) completed his second consecutive half-century to stamp his authority for the place of reserve wicket-keeper in the World Cup squad and stitched a match-winning 97 run partnership for the third wicket with Yuvraj (42). This 5-0 clean sweep by India is the second time they have won a series 5-0 after beating England by the same margin in 2008. Earlier, India scripted a likely 5-0 whitewash as bowlers decimated New Zealand’s complete batti...

What is law, and do we really need it? A brief overview

As such, there is no single or correct answer to this question. In past no one really questioned lawmakers, law distributors, or the laws themselves. But of late, society has begun to question most legal activities as to their effectiveness and competence. The cause of these reviews has emerged by changing times, changing thoughts, understanding, beliefs, as well as the development of technology and other such new developments within societies. There are 2 sources of law – parliament (legislation) and court (case) made law. These laws can be regarded as being purely formal, irrespective of whether they are good or bad. Law can be ‘positivist’ in nature – meaning no judgement is made in regards to the quality of that law - implement it regardless if it is a good or bad. Such a theory does not look at the moral implications of the laws – it’s a amoral view of law. Natural law on the other hand, is the idea that ‘God’ makes laws. This theory originates as far back as early Greece and the ...

Cong targets BJP leadership, claims JPC probe is RSS agenda

Mumbai: Tata Motors said on Thursday it would offer a four-year manufacturer's warranty on Nano cars and it would be extended to all existing customers of the vehicle. Sales of the Nano, launched by Tata Motors to much fanfare in March 2009 as the world's cheapest car, sputtered to just 509 during the month of November, an 85 per cent drop from a year earlier despite a surging Indian auto market. Media reports of a handful of spontaneous fires, difficulty getting financing to purchase the cars and rising prices have hurt sales of the Nano, which targeted those wanting to upgrade from motorcycles.
Family members of Amar Singh Solanki, a boatman who was killed prior to the terror strike in Mumbai on November 26, 2008, have demanded severe punishment for Ajmal Ameer Kasab, the lone surviving militant, involved in the attack. “The militant (Kasab) killed my husband and many other people. So, the accused must get severe punishment. He must be hanged till death for killing various innocents. I am trying very hard to educate my children so that they don’t need to go for fishing. We are terrified after what happened to my innocent husband,” said Solanki’s wife, Ben. It maybe recalled that ten gunmen from Pakistan arrived in Mumbai via the sea route at sunset on November 26, 2008 and started firing indiscriminately at a busy railway station, a Jewish settlement, a popular café and two luxury hotels. Several innocents were held hostage over the next three days and at least 166 people were killed before Indian commandos smoked out the terrorists on November 28, 2008. Kasab is facing the g...
