Union Ministry of Finance Approved Three Proposals to utilise Nirbhaya Fund -
Lal Thanhawla was sworn in as the Mizoram Chief Minister by Governor Vakkom Purushothaman at the Raj Bhawan in Aizawl on Saturday. Eleven Congress legislators were also sworn in as ministers. Mr. Thanhawla has become Chief Minister for a consecutive term for the second time and a record fifth term in his political career.
In the Union Budget speech on 28 Februry 2013, the Union Finance Minister P.Chidambaram had announced that the Government will set-up a Fund called the Nirbhaya Fund and contribute 1000 crore rupees to the Fund.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has topped the 2nd edition of Forbes India’s celebrity 100 list, a ranking of India’s most powerful celebrities.
SRK continues to be on the top on the back of his earnings, even though star cricketers scored above him on the fame rankings, states the official website of the magazine.

India delivers Dhruv chopper to Maldives
State-run Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) Saturday handed over its flagship product Advance Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv to Maldives for induction into its defence forces.
Maldivian Defence and National Security Minister Mohamed Nazim received the all-weather chopper from HAL chairman R.K. Tyagi in the presence of Southern Naval Command’s Commander-in-Chief Vice Admiral Satish Soni at the Kochi naval base in coastal Kerala.
